Trinh (Trina) Nguyen 
Associate

Trina is an associate at Hylton-Rodic Law. Before joining HRL, Trina gained valuable patent prosecution experience from her internship at MannKind Corporation, a pharmaceutical company, where she conducted freedom-to-operate analyses for new drug developments, consulted with scientists to help identify novel subject matter, and drafted patent applications covering novel technologies. Trina also served as a student associate at her law school’s Intellectual Property Clinic, where she helped translate patentable ideas into patentable applications, formulated Office Actions responses across various scientific arts, performed patentability searches, and interviewed examiners to advance applications toward allowance on behalf of local businesses and individuals. During her internship at The Hartford, Trina worked on a wide range of IP projects, ranging from copyright, trademark, and patent infringement matters. 

During law school, Trina served as an Articles Editor for the Connecticut International Law Journal. Trina concentrated her coursework on intellectual property law, earning her a Certificate in Intellectual Property upon graduation. 

Prior to law school, Trina attended Clemson University, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s in Food Science and Human Nutrition. She subsequently attended the University of Florida, where she earned a master’s in Microbiology and Cell Science. 

In her free time, Trina enjoys catching up on the latest TV shows and movies, browsing local antique shops, and playing pickleball.
